You should start bringing your child in to see a dentist at the age of 2 years old. However, it also depends on how well your child can cooperate.
We always suggest parents to prepare their children by letting them watch educational cartoons which related to dentists and inform them at least 2 weeks in advance that they will be coming to see a dentist. We found that this really helps preparing them mentally before their appointment.
Normally their first visit is just to make them comfortable and familiar with us which will help eliminating dental fear that may carry on to their adulthood. The dentist will check their teeth and may perform dental cleaning depends on the child’s cooperation.
Our dentists are very gentle and good with children. You can be assured that your children will be at good hands. We also do bulk-billing for eligible children under Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme.
