The best answer of what should you do when you have a toothache is to give us a call and come to see us as soon as possible. Most of the time, the reason of you having a toothache is because the bacteria reaches the nerve inside your tooth. The longer you wait the more complicated and expensive the treatment becomes.
When you have a toothache, give us a call, and we will do all we can to see you immediately to stop the pain. Our experience team members can guide you through step by step on what to do.
When you come in we will perform a comprehensive exam of your pain areas which normally includes X-rays to see the condition of your tooth under the gum. From the X-rays we will discuss the options with you.
It will depend on the causes of the pain;
- If we detect a sign of decays from the X-rays, usually you will have 3 options either a filling, root canal treatment or extraction depending on the severity.
- If you have gum pain, we may perform deep clean under the gum which will temporary relief the pain. We will inform you what is the next step that needs to be done to improve the condition of your gum and prevent the pain from happening again in the future.
It will normally take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on your treatment.
