The team at Dental @ Central are delighted to accept Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) card holders. The Department of Veteran’s Affairs offers a range of dental benefits to its members such as x-rays, routine cleans, fillings and dentures, depending on your cover. As an eligible member of the veteran community, you’re entitled to access a range of subsidised dental services with little to no out-of-pocket expenses. Our team of Dental @ Central have put together an FAQ to help you understand your eligibility.
Am I eligible for the DVA dental services?
If you’re a gold card holder, the DVA will fund most dental services if they’re deemed clinically necessary. These would generally include general dental services, the filling and crowning of teeth and the construction of dentures. Only accepted disability related dental treatments are provided if you are a white card holder. While some treatments may require approval, so it’s always best to ask one of our friendly team members for advice.
Accessing Dental Services
Dental @ Central are proud to provide dental services to DVA Gold Card or White Card holders, so it’s as simple as making appointment. As cover levels differ, it’s a good idea to check with your dentist before treatment commences to make sure you’re fully covered and aware of any additional costs. When you arrive for your appointment, let us know that you’re a DVA card holder and we’ll talk you through what’s covered and provide you with a record for your reference.
The level of cover differs between card holders, but on average, dental services like hygiene appointments, fillings and crowns are covered. The dental treatment you require will depend on your clinical need which will be assessed by your dentist. In most cases, your DVA card will cover the cost of your treatment, however there’re some annual limits which apply to high cost items like bridges and crowns.
